James is co-Managing Partner of the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund, alongside David Foley. For the past 15 years, James was the Chief Operating Officer and Risk Manager of LKCM Alternative Management, LLC, a hybrid public and private equity hedge fund unit, investing in a wide range of industries and market capitalization of both public and private companies. Prior to joining LKCM, he was the co-founder and a managing partner of Ranger Arbitrage, a global risk arbitrage hedge fund. From 1998 to 2003, James was Head Arbitrage Trader and served as an officer on the compliance committee for Carlson Capital, a $4 billion global multi-strategy hedge fund. Earlier in his career, James worked in risk and ADR arbitrage for Citigroup and SG Warburg, where he began his career as a trader on the floor of the NYSE. James holds a BA in Political Science from Yale University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

David is co-Managing Partner of the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund, alongside James Lavish. Since January 2021, he has served as a Partner with Larry Lepard at Equity Management Associates, LLC investing in companies which mine the monetary metals, gold and silver, and Bitcoin and Bitcoin venture capital investments. From 2007 to 2020, he was a Principal at Covalent Partners LLC, an event-driven value hedge fund, where he invested in distressed debt and equity securities and served on ad-hoc creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 restructurings. Earlier in his career, David worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, Schroders and Dean Witter. David holds a BA in Economics from Providence College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Rosie Caspary is the Operations Manager of the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund, LP, where she has played a key role since its inception. She has worked alongside Managing Partners James Lavish and David Foley, building on a seven-year history of collaboration with James on previous projects. Her professional background includes international experience in Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; Estoril, Portugal and Sun City, South Africa where she was a part of large-scale production shows. In addition, she has over 17 years of management experience in Las Vegas, serving as General Manager of the Bevertainment program at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino as well as the World Famous Folies Bergere at the Tropicana Hotel. Originally from Brighton, England, Rosie holds a BPA degree from Bush Davies College in London. Her extensive operational background and global perspective are integral to the Fund’s mission.

Larry is a Member of the Investment Committee. Larry founded Equity Management Associates, LLC in 2006. Since 2008, he has focused on investing in companies which mine the monetary metals, gold and silver, and Bitcoin and Bitcoin venture capital investments. Larry presently serves on the Board of Directors of two development-stage gold mining companies. He has been a frequent guest of many media outlets including Bloomberg Television for his expertise on the monetary metals market. Previously, he spent 13 years at Geocapital Partners where he was one of two Managing General Partners and was responsible for four venture capital (VC) funds. At Geo, he invested and/or served on the boards of many successful deals including early internet investments. Prior to Geo, Larry spent seven years at the VC firm Summit Partners in Boston, MA and Newport Beach, CA, where he established Summit’s West Coast office. Earlier in his career, Larry worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. Larry holds a BA in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Greg is a Member of the Investment Committee. Greg has spent over thirty years in the financial markets with a focus on trading high-yield credit. He has worked on both the sell-side of the street and the buy-side having been managing partner of credit strategies at a successful hedge fund during the global financial crisis in 2008. Greg is currently an executive and shareholder at Validus Power where he focuses on strategies within the Bitcoin ecosystem. He is also a co-founder of Looking Glass. Greg holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Cornell University.

Mark is a Member of the Investment Committee. Mark founded Market Disruptors in 2019, which has become one of the fastest growing media companies in the world of alternative finance, focusing on Bitcoin, Macroeconomics and Geopolitical cycles. He is currently an advisor to many Bitcoin-related companies and investment firms including Swan Bitcoin and Trammel Venture Partners. Mark’s unique market insights and personality make him a frequent contributor to Fox Business, Stansberry Research, Kitco as well as a keynote speaker at the Bitcoin Conference, VRIC, Rebel Capitalist and many other high profile events. Mark’s ability to see trends and opportunities has enabled him to be a founder of 8 companies that have scaled to 7-8 figures within 12 months, including many exits and a high value Fortune 500 exit in the high tech space.
